Cyperus Alternifolius – Umbrella Grass

This funky plant forms a lovely umbrella like fronds at the top of the grass creating a lovely architectural shaped plant. This is a plant that is very thirsty and is the one plant you cannot kill with overwatering.

Position

The Cyperus can be grown in almost any light condition, from full sun, to light or medium shade. Its very adaptable.

Water

The Umbrella Grass must have a high level of water saturation at all times, this is the only way to keep it looking lush looking. Its advisable to use a large drip trip, or enclosed pot so ity can sit in water and reduce the frequency that you have to top it up.
